What we are for
We are not innovative. From the Garden to the desert to the tomb, our Christian inheritance is an ancient heirloom, passed down through a tapestry of spiritual ancestry. It describes countless elements of our faith preserved through the ages, including our place in Heaven, God’s Word, and the Church.
The long vision of this journal is larger than a semester and larger than a campus. We want to see undergraduates writing seriously again about the Church Fathers, the Patriarchs, and the ancient authors — the men and women whose thinking formed the faith and whom the Church has largely stopped reading. Two thousand years of argument, prayer, and scholarship sit almost untouched by the generation that inherited them. Recovering that is the work of decades. A semesterly journal written by undergraduates is how it can begin.

We create publications and host events to foster respectful and deep theological conversation. We serve PHC students, family, alumni, and faculty. We operate with prayerful fidelity to God’s word in the Spirit.
One issue is published each semester, edited entirely by students under the supervision of the endowed Chair of Theology.
Printing costs, honoraria for contributors, and the events that turn a journal into a conversation. We receive no institutional funding and depend wholly on our readers.
